BOXED DRY CARD COMPASS. A mid 19th Century ( Circa 1860’s) British boxed dry card compass by Gerrard, Liverpool. The card shows the 32 points of a compass and the north point has the lion and unicorn emblem with a banner showing “GERRARD”, to the south the card is marked “LIVERPOOL” it also has degrees marked on the outside of the card. The bowl and gimbal are constructed from brass and mounted in the original pine box with sliding lid. Diameter of compass 5” (12.5 cm) and the box is 8” (20 cm) square
