Antique Sextant made by Cary, London. and previously owned by Captain N.V. Grace R.N ( Royal Navy ) - see below for his Naval career and history.
A fine late 19th century Royal Navy navigators Sextant, brass frame with 'T' frame design. Engraved on the arc Cary, London. No.3208
The silver scale is engraved from -5 degrees to 150 degrees and can measure angles up to 128 degrees, it is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier, the silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc.
This Sextant has a radius of 6.5 inches.
This antique Sextant is contained within its original hardwood box. It comes complete with two telescopes, spare telecope eye piece, two eye piece sun filters, screwdriver and mirror adjusting tool. The National Physical Laboratory examination certificate is dated 1910.

The silver scale is engraved from -5 degrees to 155 degrees and can measure angles to 128 degrees, it is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier, the silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc. This sextant has a 6 inch radius.
Box measures W 25 / D 24.5 / H 12.5 cm
This antique Sextant is in good condition and contained within its original hardwood box. It comes with four telescopes. The small telescope sun filter is missing.

An early 19th Century unsigned diamond frame navigators Sextant.
The silver scale is engraved from -5 degrees to 150 degrees and can measure angles up to 128 degrees, it is divided into 15 minute increments. The silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 15 seconds of arc and the index arm if fitted with a swinging scale magnifier.
The Sextant has a radius of 8 inches / 20cm and a height of 10 inches / 25cm.
This antique Sextant is contained within its original keystone shaped hardwood box. It has two telescopes and one eye piece sun filter.

The silver scale is engraved from -7 degrees to 150 degrees and can measure angles up to 127 degrees. 6.5 inch radius.
Contained in its original hardwood & Bakelite case. It comes with two telescopes.

This antique Octant is contained within its original hardwood box with brass carry handle. It comes complete with all its accessories - two telescopes, one eye piece sun filter and mirror adjusting tool.
